Snorkelling

During 2016 Swimshak was awarded status as a” British Sub Aqua Club Snorkelling Centre.” We do therefore offer basic snorkelling courses for both children and adults conducted by a BSAC qualified snorkelling instructor and ocean diver. Successful candidates can gain the BSAC Dolphin Snorkeller Certificate.

All candidates must be confident in the water and able to swim 50 metres. Additionally basic taster courses are offered to the less confident and able swimmers.

Courses are run on demand with a min/max of four students. 
 

Family First Aid

At Swimshak we are particularly mindful of the dangers of everyday life and the ability to be able to deal with medical problems/injuries, as and when they arise, which often occur in the home.

 

We are therefore offering:


“An essential First Aid Course for Parents”

This 3 hour course is ideal for Parents, Grandparents, Parents to be and anyone caring for children in an informal setting.

The following essential First Aid topics will be covered:

•    Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (+ use of an A.E.D.)
•    Choking
•    Bleeding
•    Minor Bumps and Grazes
•    Unconscious casualties
•    Broken bones
•    Meningitis/Sepsis awareness

Courses will be held at Swimshak throughout the winter subject to demand.

Cost £20.00 per person including tea/coffee etc.

Each course can accommodate eight persons and will be tutored by Alan Powell (Qualsafe approved trainer, Association of First Aiders Trainer, Royal Life Saving Society Trainer/Assessor.
