SwimShak is a family run swim school established to provide water confidence and swimming skills to all ages and abilities.

Our 8m x 4m learner pool is heated to a comfortable 31 degrees.

The smaller, but fun friendly environment quickly builds early water confidence, allows for more individual instruction, ensuring quicker progress and more cost effective lessons.

Sing and Swim

These sessions cater for babies 4 months upwards with limited or no co-ordination through to those who are water confident and able to move independently. Infants will be accompanied in the water by adults, who will be taught all the necessary techniques.

Water confidence is essential, if children are to become successful swimmers. Each session is designed to be fun but constructive! Having a good voice and knowing your nursery rhymes is not essential! Children will normally move onto to the next stage by 36 months.

Learn to swim classes

Designed for pupils from 3 years upwards, taking them from early learning through to mastering the correct technique in all strokes which can be sustained over a distance. Associated water skils will be taught to support the strokes and prepare swimmers for other various water based activities.

All our pupils are taught on a 2:1 or 1:1 basis allowing individual attention with teachers in the water supporting and encouraging faster progress, whilst at the same time ensuring greater pupil enjoyment.

The swim school will attempt to match the children according to age and ability, however, pupils progress at different rates and it may become necessary to move your child to a more appropriate session.

Our awards system ensures pupils progression through various stages from early learning to more challenging techniques that can open the door to other water based sports or competitive swimming. Swimmers will also be encouraged to learn basic water safety skills, rescue and personal survival.

For adult learners we offer 1:1 lessons only. This can be for the non-swimmer or for those who can swim but wish to improve their ability and further their stroke techniques.
